Available soon in french. I suppose it will be freely available in english on FFG's website, in the future.

From Laurent Pouchain's blog:

The new issue of Ravage will be released soon. It features a mini-extension for City of Thieves, about Magic.
Four new grimoires are available to thieves, each containing four spells.

To cast a spell, you must pass a test. Beware, each time you fail, you receive a Curse token, and at the end of the game, when you pay for the equipment, you will pay an extra ducat for each Curse token!
Top sum up, a spellbook is useful, but it can be expensive in the hands of a poor wizard :-)

Great news :-) It will be a nice addition to the game. It's becoming a lot more interesting with all those small expansion. I hope they are keeping interesting stuff for the retail box expansion at the end of the year :-)

You're right indeed, it's a previous one from Ravage mag.
It plays with the mini-expansions "the inn", "cry havoc", and "A gamble in the dark" "Cadwallon underground" (the latter is not available in english yet, as far as I know).

Sauve qui peut looks really interesting but the font is all too small to try and read. Anyone have a copy that's legible?

The tiny font is on purpose.
The order of publishing is as follows:
-Ravage mag, "paper" french version
-after a few months (2 IIRC), .pdf english translation on FFG's website
-after many months, .pdf french version on Haazgard's website
Due to copyright, you can't scan Ravage mag and upload it in hi-res until the Haazgaard pdf version is online. Be patient, I suppose the FFG version will be online soon.

A bit more info about this mini-exp, since I have the last Ravage mag handy :

Spellbooks are new equipment cards (see The Inn mini-exp).
4 spells in each spellbook, 4 spellbooks. The character who owns a spellbook is called the wizard. Only 1 wizard per band.
Casting a spell costs 1AP and is not considered as an action.
When you activate the wizard, he can try to cast a spell (1 per turn):
1-name the spell you try to cast
2-check if the applicable requirement (if any) is fulfilled
3-spend 1AP and roll a die to check success. Higher than spell's level: spell casted, apply effect. Lower: fail, get 1 curse token.
And the end of the game, you pay 1 more ducat to the innkeeper, for each curse token you have.

There are 10 different spells, each spellbook has 4 of them.
Spell examples:
-Telekinesis: Move a chest token in a room without chest. Level:4+
-Eye of Croesus: Another player must tell you how many ducats he owns. Level:2+
-Disappearance: The wizard leaves the board for good, with all its treasures. Level:5+. Requirement: Alarm has to be on and the wizard must own a red jewel.

Looks fun at 1st glance, some spells can have nasty effectsdevil
