I gotta say, that game appears to look pretty boring...

I know that opinion is only based of a single picture, but I was expecting something more akin to a miniatures game of ringwraiths chasing hobbits.

This looks more like a boardgame that just so happens to have a few miniatures.

Kinda like the really disappointing Star Trek game.

And if it is anything like previous WK clix games, that papper map will be tightly folded in a rather small parcel and will look like utter garbage when unfolded.

Man, I was pretty excited for this...now not so much.

Very very true, but I have serious doubts that the prototype is going to look much different than the final product.

It's not the look I am worried about. It's the mechanics. This isn't a skirmish game, it is a boardgame just like Knizia's star trek that happens to have some miniatures to use with it.

I'll happily eat my early and kneejerk opinion if it turns out to be significantly different.

This does look lame. Especially the euro cubes. What are those doing in a miniatures game?

Well, the board for Star Trek: Expeditions is as good and thick as boards get ...

This is not the miniature game. That is completely different from this.

No one ever said this was a miniatures game.

I would expect paper map to just be the prototype.

There will be a separate miniatures game. Based on descriptions from the publisher this is supposed to be a semi-cooperative board game.

Fine by me if it is like the Trek game. The current map shown above doesn't do much for me, nothing like the MEQ map anyway.

The semi-coop aspect sounds really interesting also. More like real life! No I in team but there is me....

Yeah, the MEQ map is a very nice piece of art. If only there was a game worth playing that went with it.

Need to really see the rules first before you can get a better idea if the game is worth it or not.

it is impressive, yet not as much as the WotR board. fortunately, both are excellent and outstanding games
