Never sold on BGG before. What extra steps need to be taken so both parties are satisfied? Insurance? Shipping option? Willing to let go for less than 1K plus shipping costs. If anyone contacts me and it does sell from this post I will make sure BGG gets 3% they are due, but really just looking for advice (other than keep it Steve, you idiot).

Realise that tape with 'Fragile' on it.. is courier speak for

'kick me' 'drop me' and, if they are feeling strong.. 'throw me'.

Seriously though, mine arrived Fed Ex, with not a scratch on it

As others have said, insuure it, and pray !

and never EVER send it USPS.

Hi Steve. If you aren't in a hurry for it to sell, trying to sell it locally first, so you can make the exchange in person, sounds like good advice. Judging by how well they sold on eBay over the holidays, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a buyer. Good luck!

P.S. I second "keep it Steve, you idiot"

OPEN IT - to check components - a few (including mine) had missing figures on arrival and you may end up having to give a refund if it's not complete or if its damaged.

Make sure you mark clearly on the box the instructions for opening. Canadian customs opened mine and damaged the case. Well at least that is my guess but no way to prove it.

I filled a complaint but never heard anything back.

Also make sure you pack it up well since it is heavy nd has a chance to get dropped.

Try to sell local if you can. I expect insurance on a oop collectible will be pretty high.

If I had the money I would make you an offer but right now I am tapped out.

I would also go with keeping it if you have the means.

D.

Don't sell it for less than $900. Could probably list it for $1,000.

Selling local would be best. Don't ship UPS. Use FedEx, or second best USPS. Insured and delivery confirmation, tracking number, etc.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Very helpful and valuable advice.
BGG should have a pinned section on this subject (or maybe they do and I'm not aware of it.

Really, I should open it? Would it not be agreed they buy whatever is in the unopened game?
I know FFG has replaced figures in other games , at least when Thadd was there, but I would suspect the amount of extra parts for this game just laying around would be little or none.

Wow that is a potential problem.
Thanks for the comment.

If I had a sealed copy that I wanted to sell, I would not open it at this point in time. Nexus doesn't exist anymore and any spare parts would have to come from them, so chances are small you will be able to rectify any wrong. Right now, you can assume the copy you have is complete. If you open it, you could only de-value the value.

Good luck selling. I'll be checking to see what it sold for.

Do NOT open it.

If it is still factory sealed, then advertise it as such and you have no worries: If there are missing pieces, you are not to blame as you were upfront and honest about the condition it was in and did sell it in that condition.

Because there's always somebody about to sell their WotR CE? whistle

There is a Game Valuations folder. Maybe a pinned article about selling generally would make sense there. Personally, I hate to see the game folders get clogged up with threads about people selling their stuff. After it's sold, the thread remains forever, pushing the useful info that people actually need to find farther down in the stack. We have marketplace folders for a reason.

Yea, the pin was for general selling/packing/shipping tips. Not just for this game. I put this post here as this is not the ordinary games shipped or sold, and was hoping to learn for specific experiences in dealing with this huge and very expensive rare game. Frankly this is the place where I found the best info on dealing this game.
Really doubt this is much of a bottleneck as far as clogging up posts.
But your point is taken and I will attempt to be more selective in the future.

That was the rings influence, trying to convince you to not sell it.
