Does anybody know if there are plans for a second run of this game?

I had a friend who mailed the designer asking the question after borrowing my copy and received an answer saying "No". Anecdotal evidence but pretty solid I would say.

New demand for any product wanes over time. There are exceptions of course, but when someone is putting their own money on the line to print a large enough run to make it cost-effective, they will be very careful to ensure demand is there first.

While it is true that it appears people really enjoy this title, I would wager heavily that not enough (most likely fewer) people would actually buy a reprint.

It is unlikely that sufficient demand exists. It also appears that the designer has other irons in the fire... each of which will demand finite capital and attention.

Agreed Phil, my mate's response was very much along the lines of he's working on a new project, end of. From reading between the lines I think the process of printing WTIS was pretty painful for him and in which case I don't blame him at all for not reprinting it.

Well he designed and published it himself and it was his first game I believe. It's also his hobby and not his full time job, so if that didn't involve a truckload of sweat and tears and a heroic effort I'd be suprised. Absolute quality game though, from top to bottom it oozes class...

My only niggle with the game is that the game board is large enough to build a small home on, and some tokens have to be kept OFF THE EDGE OF THE BOARD until needed.

From experience in these matters, creating such a product is largely thankless and is marginally profitable when all is said and done. If one is also the designer, that situation is even worse many times.

People who do these things do them for LOVE... of this, I have no doubt whatsoever. I am also immensely grateful for those who choose to do these things as well, and would never give such an individual pause to reconsider continuing.

An opinion only... one among billions of them.

I sure wish I could get a copy for a reasonable price/trade as well.

I wonder if the designer would consider trying a Kickstarter project for it?

The way it's going any reprint would come with a 2012 expansion

Would need an airfield counter plus new Typhoon sqd.

How many VPs do we lose if Prince William is lost in the line of duty??

Nothing, id hardly call Prince William a military asset. More like a mascot being awarded through royal tokenism.

If this isn't going to get reprinted then the designer should put the files up and allow people to Print and Play it, as this games looks very interesting. Or hell, sell the files.

Why not P500 (or P250) and take deposit? Sounds pretty safe businesswise...

...or contact a company like GMT to offer it; that would take away much of the trauma of doing it himself.

I'd jump on a GMT preorder in a second...
