The question is: Who is Bill Noface?Or what western character inspired him? I am curious. Maybe he wears that thing to hide his face because it burnt?

"Greg Hunter"? Is that the direct translation of another language card? I think you might be referring to "Greg Digger" which is a wordplay on "Grave Digger" or "Gravedigger" (Dansk - graverkarl)

Slightly off topic - While looking for a good translation, I found it interesting that the english word "grave" comes from the germanic word for "dig" - "grave" (Danish/Norwegian)/"graven" (Dutch)/"graben" (German)/"grafa" (Icelandic)/"gräva" (Swedish). I guess my public education about my own native language and its origins shows.

Oops - we never answered the original question.

I would say that Martin Pulido's "The Bang! Blog" tends to be one of the most comprehensive sources of Bang! info, but he is not sure of or cannot remember Bill Noface's inspiration.

I would speculate that it might be inspired by Clint Eastwood's "The Man With No Name" from the Dollars Trilogy.

Nobody seemed to know where Bill called home
He just drifted into town and stayed all alone
He didn't say much, kinda quiet and shy
And if you spoke at all you just said 'Hi' to Bill Noface
Some say he came from New Orleans
Where he got in a fight over a Cajun Queen
And a crashin' blow from a huge right hand
Sent a Louisiana fellow to the Promised Land, Bill Noface

Well, I think I have found the inspiration:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Bart_%28outlaw%29

This outlaw used a sack mask while he robbed Wells Fargo. Just read the article and you will find it.
