And now I can make my turn blush.

If I were a gambling man, I'd just take the 50% chance

But I'm not.

Abandon 3, picking up 3 humans who finally reach the mostly untouched fields of 12.

7 (humans) + 7 (bonus) + 3 (tritons) = 17 VP.

Matching the turn that made Steve enemy #1. Not bad.

Cool! After everyone grabbed new races and started them all underground, I had an inkling that I would be in the top 3.

Congrats, and thanks Matt for my first PBF game!

Yeah, I thought you were likely rocketing ahead. I believe I'd been warning about Lars since mid-game, and it was totally correct.

Well, I feel like I did well given how much hate was coming my way. And if Shawn had gone Goblin and wiped out the Giants while hemming in the humans, he mighta won it, who knows? My one regret is not protecting the Crystal Fields better; I saw what the Barbarians could do just what they did, but for some reason thought protecting my border with Tom was more important.

God I hate that Ring. Also, I'm looking forward to seeing Matt's plot, I always like the visual effect.

If I could make a suggestion for a next game: maybe place some monsters above ground?

They've escaaaaaaped.

Yeah, it seems very standard in these games for the Underground to be a bloodbath almost constantly, while the fighting only sometimes spills onto the surface (just look at those peaceful farmers!)

Here is the visual result:

My plan was to stay above ground, and not get into a fight over the relics and places.

I've seen people fight over those things, and I hate them with a passion. I really don't think they improve Small World.

Holy crap my whining was 100% justified!!! That never happens! Well done Lars. I might have made your job a bit easier by generating so much heat. And Tom would have had a much better shot if I hadn't decimated his point scoring ability for the last two turns.

I find it interesting that Nicholas, who swore he'd take me out for fun's sake, and Lars with his peaceful Skeletons and Mummies, were the two who never attacked me and wound up in first and second.

Didn't have the right stuff to attack you with. To be fair, I started the ball rolling on your Dwarfs right before you declined.

Could we please play, let's say, 4 rounds?
Steve crushed me to dead, so I'm kinda happy it turned out this way.
Sorry Steve, I hope we can have a friendly match another time
Thanks for hosting and for the game in general.

According to the graph above that would suit me just fine

Good game, all. I must admit, I'm still slapping my head over not taking the Goblins. blush I don't know if it would have made a difference - I probably would have just ended up king-making since the only person I could have really hit with them was Lars and his skeletons.shake

Steve, I've got to admit - I think your whining was starting to be counter-productive: I was almost discounting it, since I knew you always did that, so maybe you're doing better than I think...

And yeah, I'm not as big of a fan of the relics and places.

Just chiming in here - as I said after the last game - I agree that the relics and places are a bit much. The underworld races just seem substantially more overpowered in tunnels. And since it's entirely possible to have a run of underworld races at one point in a game, and none later, the balancing mechanism of VPs on undesirable races doesn't always seem to work well.

Apparently, that would have been pretty good for me! I was on the other side of the skeletons altogether.

Proberly missing one of those thieving rings. It's difficult when you have to go through all the posts, instead of just keeping a running score.

Edit: It was actually my own use of teh ring. I forgot that I couldn't steal from Felix.

I'm really pleased to see the undead do so well.. Now all we need for Small World is a zombie race.
