That's a Palm Pilot on the left, and a pink iPod mini on the right. Yes, I've been doing BGTG that long!

For years I've hosted my own blog for the Boardgames To Go podcast (in face it was a blog before it was a podcast!). Although that had advantages back then, now I think it will be easier for me (to manage) and my listeners (to provide feedback) when I move the blog right here onto BGG.

(Technically, the large audio files themselves are hosted by the libsyn service, and most of my listeners download the shows through iTunes, Stitcher, or something else--that will still be the case.)

The thing is, there are different "places" to put my postings here on BGG. Which is best?

1. The BGTG guild.

This is how Ludology and some other podcasts do it. Individual episodes are announced on guild forum threads. No publication on the BGG front page, as far as I can tell. Other discussions can be initiated by anyone within the guild. Easy to subscribe to on BGG.

2. The BGTG blog (on BGG).

Since BGG upgraded their blog system, I could just start posting here. Comments aren't as visible as forum replies, but are attached to the episode posting itself. New blog entries are more visible on the BGG front page. I might post non-podcast entries, too, like a regular blog. Also easy to subscribe to on BGG.

3. The BGTG podcast page.

Podcast episodes automagically show up on this page (scraped from my feed), and there are forums available down at the bottom of the page, but I'm not sure anyone ever looks there.

4. This very podcast forum on BGG.

This is where I've been posting show announcements for years. It's more publicly viewable/findable, as long as you follow podcasts. But it's not focused on my podcast in any way, because it covers everyone at the same time.

I think #2 is my best option, but I welcome other opinions, especially about factors I've missed.

I prefer the BGG blog (#2). I like that format with dated entries, plus it stays true to what you are currently doing on boardgamestogo.com.

I think #2 is best, Mark. Visible on the front blog module, and people who discover your podcast can drill down to your blogs and find the individual posting of episodes they're interested in. Plus, personally I think that format is more convenient to subscribe to.

I've created a geeklist for my 1 Player podcast and use that as a directory of the episodes and also for discussion. It works well as I generally talk about 1 game each show so that game becomes the GL item.

#2 sounds good to me - I like the BGG blogs. You might want to check that there are no big changes planned for the blogs when the new look happens . . !

I'd also prefer option 2.

As for the changes: regarding blogs the beta looks and works fine. So no need to worry.
