pretty new to Formula D and I liked it instantly. Since new cars are hard to come by (note to self: need to check Shapeways!), I tried my hand at making my own.
Based on a 1970 Ferrari 312B, chassis was sculpted from one piece styrene. Front wings, rear wing, cockpit and driver are separate pieces. Them parts are tiny and my fingers are not what they used to be, but I am quite pleased. Not quite THE Ferrari 312b, I know, but the technique seems to work.
After a coat of primer, I painted the car with Citadel paints.
Next up is a Brabham...
Shapeways has some different FD car models.
If you would like to race with rally style cars, www.rallyman.fr has rallycars that fit nicely to FD also.
Very impressive sculpting! I noticed that the car's body is suspended above the table. Won't this put the car at risk of breaking when someone enthusiastically applies a bit too much downforce?
That is an excellent car! Now you just have to make 9 more.
