Hi,

Just played this game for the first time last night and my group was wondering if it mattered or not to randomly change the location of the starting trains around the Eiffel Tower hexes for every new game?

Last night we just placed the train colors around Eiffel Tower like it did in the rulebook.

Thanks!

It doesn't matter, because each color has the same number of bits. Randomizing just requires less effort.

It does matter, but only in that you don't want to allow players to place them according to their desires after they've seen their starting stocks.

This is true. I've also found that it slightly matters due to people's inate attraction to certain colors (like blue). So changing the starting location for the blue train, for example, would add variety.
