Conifold Field: Creates a brane field, giving three
Hull points and consuming two Energy.

So is it:
A) Gives you three otherwise ordinary hull points but requires two energy.

That doesn't seem all that useful due to taking up a slot on your blueprint and probably requiring you to research one of the more robust power sources.

B) Since it is called Conifold Field it creates a three hull point shield around a ship that must be knocked down before any further damage spills onto the regular hull and every combat round regenerates a fresh three point shield?

Thematically I would lean toward "B". But for game balance issues I suspect that it's "A".

Perhaps it would have been less ambiguous if it had been named something like "Conifold Reinforcement"...?

Your thoughts?

It's A. It's basically a better reinforced hull. Think of it as the field re-energizing between battles. If you have one of he high power sources (say the 12) it can be very helpful, as 2 of them (and 4 energy) is the same as 3 reinforced hulls, buying you an all important extra space in your design.

I dont know where you got this idea from, it doesnt have a regeneration symbol on it and is very simply stated and shown to be a 3 hull that costs 2 energy...

The fact that it's called a "Field" threw me off. I saw that a I thought "force field" as in "deflection field" or some such similar techno-babble that I've seen in other games.

Sometimes I just think too much...
