Here's my annual overview of BGG stats from 2012.

Traffic Stats

502,706,623 Pageviews (+16.99%)
23,017,450 Absolute Unique Visitors (+33.81%)
67,779,577 Visits (+30.26%)

Another year of increased visits, pageviews, and unique visitors. I'm not sure why the drop in time on site, but it could be related to the amount of increased traffic bringing the average time down.

ASL ... yes, this is my Desert Island Game. If I have to give up all my 3000+ games and only allowed to keep one, this would be it. This bloody game stood the test of time. Around for more than 25 years - simply the best.

Interesting stats.

I guess the Lower Time/Visit is related to the increased use of mobile devices? Personally i have my ipad most of the time beside me when Gaming for a quick rule clarification on BGG etc...

Interesting! The number of unique visitors continues to be on the rise - congrats, and keep up the good work in 2013.

Are you also going to post the annual "Top 100 Geeklists", "Top 100 Reviews", "Top 100 Forum Posts", "Top 300 Images", etc for 2012?

I think most of us love seeing the cream of the crop from the past year, and I've enjoyed how this was done in previous years.

You'll be hearing this phrase more often. My kids were amazed that music was once kept on disc, rather than on a computer or mobile device.

"What happens if you break it or lose it, dad?"
"Well, then we used to have to go buy a new one. Uphill, both ways. Hey, you kids get off my lawn!"

Yeah, 1366x768 is the new 1024x768. With more and more notebooks/laptops/netbooks being purchased, the move to widescreen, this "lowest" screen size will be found in all the cheaper systems, so it will be most prevalent. Personally, I would go nuts with that low a resolution; but it at least explains the stats you are seeing.

What bugs me is that's the screen resolution I've been running for almost 10 years now (Since the Mac G5 was released in 2003 -- the 23'' screen was available some time before this, so someone could claim even 11 or 12 years). I'm actually surprised that this still the max resolution listed. The basic 27'' iMac is 2560 by 1440 -- and it's not like there isn't a lot of these out there.

Still, I guess with the massive migration to laptops that 23'' diagonal screen is now 17'' or less.

Maybe hi-dpi screen making it into laptops will finally raise this.
