Pleasantly surprised by the size of my category as the the size of everything else seems to be going down as I get older.

It's funny, at 42 I am one of the youngest in my gaming circles(with some exceptions).

I think my gamer makeup usually follows "Those who played D&D in the early 80's". I tend to relate to those people the most.

which kind of eliminates "those born in the 80's", who otherwise make up a strong category.

Indeed. Half of the respondents were born in the mid-70's or earlier. I like those numbers.

Going lower down the chart really seems like relegation. I moved to a lower category myself this year and it hurt! (Along with my joints, my feet, my teeth, my scalp, my knuckles, my eyes etc. etc.).

Will be interesting to see whether the bimodal distribution is still there after a couple hundred more responses. Are we looking at two generations of Geeks?

approaching 200 responses, I'd say 26 to 50 are all holding near enough to each other.

At 37 my generation also played D&D but we are perhaps better known for playing to death games from the MB GameMaster Series - Axis & Allies, Shogun, Fortress America and that more obscure Broadsides one.

We also played Space Hulk a lot.

63... father of an eleven-year-old boy... and still immature enough to engage in a bit of one-up-man-ship on BGG. laugh

Jim

Est. 1949

NB: One-up-person-ship just doesn't sound right so no disrespect intended towards those of a more PC background.
