For all those who participated in the Secret Santa game, you should have received an email with your "target" in it. If you haven't received such an email - alert me immediately.

(For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's the thread:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/729007#729007
Don't get too excited - I'm not taking any more names.)

Anyway, this thread here is to tell the good stories of the games you got! Let us know about the generosity of others!

Only GOOD things, please. Any problems email to me privately, and we'll work them out.

I've got mine packed, and ready to go. I'm sending it priority, so there's a real good chance it'll get there by Christmas.

My game is ready to go, I just have to find a box. Hopefully my orders from germangames.com and levalet.com come in soon and that one of the boxes will be the right size.

Update: I found a box in the recycling room that was just the right size, so I gave up sleep to pack up the game. If I have time (I'm busy studying) tomorrow, I'll post it, it shouldn't take too long to arrive at its destination since it's within the province.

I am eager to get my game (whatever it may be) on its way.

How do I see my "target's" wish list?

I found his wants in the collection, but there are none. And I cannot find the wish list.

If you go to his profile, on the right upper side, beside want list etc. is wish list....

If you can't find his, just send me one instead. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/viewwishlist.php3?username=meli...

Or you could replace my userID with your target's

I ordered from a geographically closer retailer to my mark, er, target, er lucky recipient. I think it actually might get there before Christmas.

Ordered the surprise for my target yesterday and paid extra for 3-day delivery. Should be there before Christmas.

Great project! Thanks again, Tom.

With any luck the order I place later today will arrive in time for Christmas. I was really torn between two things but decided against both:

1) Shipping the game to me and then sending it out wrapped or with something else to make it more personal. I finally decided that since I have the recipient's address I can always send something else individually.

2) Since I have somewhat of an "evil" sense of humor I was tempted to have a copy of LCR or something show up before the real package. If I could have narrowed it down to maybe an hour or so instead of a day or two I very well might have done that, but the last thing I wanted to do was ruin someone's mood during the holidays. Additionally, the thought of paying as much to ship LCR as the game would cost nearly made me vommit. gulp

I've placed an order with a dealer that advertises on bgg, just waiting for them to get back to me on the shipping cost, then off it goes.....

I am going out to pick it up today (or tomorrow) and then wrap it...

I am still pondering the best way of delivering it though

Hmm. Apparently I got my target, but I can't make it out. I got nothing but gibberish. I PM'ed Tom, but haven't gotten a reply yet. Is it something wrong with my settings/preferences?

Any ideas would be helpful.

I never heard back so my email must have fallen through the cracks. Too bad (but no hard feelings at all). Smiths are easy to overlook. kiss

Tom put a big job on his shoulders and I certainly thank him for that. Maybe next year!

Reading all the emails in this and the other SS thread has certainly put me in the Christmas spirit. Good fortune to you all at the game table in 2006.

I thought that I was, but it turned out I was only on his/her collection page. Is there a way to go directly to someone's profile from the front page? (for future reference).

Should get a gift ordered/selected before Monday!

Just type their user name into the "Collections" search box, about 2/3 down the front page.

I never thought it would cost so much to ship a lump of coal!

Trying to decide what to get, though the chances of it getting in the mail today are slim.

I just sent my order off to the friendly online game store I typically use. Luckily, it is right near my 'surprisee'.

One thing you all might want to try, sepecially if you use the same online retailer frequently, is to let them know that this is part of the '2005 BoardGameGeek Secret Santa exchange'. That might reinforce their attention to the BGG community.

I'm hoping my retailer can gift wrap, but at the very least I dictated a note for them to include with the gift.

laugh I'm excited to be part of this! Thanks, Tom, and Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays to you all!
