What's wrong with a glockenspiel?

Everything so far is hilarious.

But I don't think confetti was mentioned. Makes cleanup impossible.

A Smart phone.

While I'm one of the few that don't own a smart phone... nothing irks me more than sitting at a table in the midst of a game only to watch someone pay little to no attention to the game because they're immersed in some nonsense with the Internet/Social Media/Texting.

This, this, this! It's not a board game, but I had to implement and no cell phones policy while DMing D&D once because my entire party was texting under the table and paid no attention, despite claiming to want to play.

Not true! I saw a real addict using one to keep score "because people might push the markers in the board out of place". He knows who he his so I will not name him...

And some of us pull these out to check out things about the game on BGG - usually when we're learning a new game or being introduced to one that only has rules in German and we don't feel we can rely on the explainer. whistle

Checking the rules I can understand, as with keeping score. But that's not what has been happening in my experience. Smart phones or even messing with regular phones only leads to basic questions later in the game due to texted conversations during the initial rules explanations.

Incomplete boardgame (it actually happened and we had to use peanuts to represent zombies - each zombie killed meant peanuts for that person so it worked out ok)

I'm not so sure I'd want to eat peanuts handled by multiple players...

For me, the worst things to bring to game nights are snacks that leave caked-on residue despite the use of a napkin, and foods with sauces or marinades.

The absolute worst one I would definitely despise is having a person show up with whatever ailment he or she had brewing for the last few days. I am very thankful, that members of my gaming group will call and cancel if they have been or recently got sick as the game night nears. I am also very thankful that members of my gaming group knows what a bar of soap looks like.

He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.

Has anyone said a burlap sack full of scorpions? If not, I'ma go with that. Nothing ruins a game night like a heaping helping of deadly, deadly venom.

Well, that goes back to the food that shouldn't be brought, doesn't it.

Someone else mentioned wings. I will add pizza. Pepperoni grease is like mustard: it gets EVERYWHERE as soon as it enters the room.

Wow - you guys game with some real slobs. We have had pizza virtually every game night for the last 3 years and this just doesn't happen to us. We have napkins and actually wipe our mouths and hands. It is rare, however, that we start a game right away - over pizza we decide what game we're playing and get it ready while eating. Still don't have any stains or food/beverage related damage to any game I own.

Actually, I think naturally produced methane would be worse!

Therefore, the worst thing to bring to game night is .... BEANS!
