Thought people might be interested how I packaged my game. 2 small planos, 2 250 card cases, and a couple smaller cases worked very well.

I really like what you did. What kind of box is the small one you use to house the cities?

Looks good. Is it difficult to remove the monster tokens from the plano cases?

Thanks for the link, do the 250 card boxes hold sleeved cards?

What do you have Goldyx in? I actually am already using one of those Plano containers for my tokens and stuff, but currently using the model insert (for cities and heroes) from the original box and some deck boxes for the cards. That will probably have to change to something more similar to what you have if I want to get everything into a single box.

While I was hoping to fit him in the plano, he was just too big so I tried this...

http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Figure-Display-Box-Medium/dp/B...

It was almost a perfect fit. I actually wanted to put all the figures in these because I thought it looked cool, but then I couldnt fit everything in the box so he's the only one that got an individual case

I found a nice storage container at JoAnn Fabrics. The brand is Lock-Ups, and they come in a handful of sizes. I got the 8 oz and was able to fit all of the base game cities and figures in it. I think you can easily fit the cities and Volkare in one and the 5 hero figures in another. They won't bounce around too easily and I think the Lock-Ups are a sturdy container.

Here is a link to the container on Amazon so you can get an idea.

It's really expensive on Amazon and really cheap at JoAnn's I paid .97 for it, because it was 40% off.

This is my solution:
You have to cut original boxes and you can fit them in 1 box.

Wow, that looks so... efficient. Are your cards sleeved? I think that would be my downfall if I tried to package it like this. Plus I already tossed my original hex containers.

Interesting setup. Personally I didnt like the figure inserts they came in, mine just seemed way too tight. I had to pry them out and nearly broke the general...

In those pictures only wounds are not sleeved.
I run out of sleeves.
At the moment everything is sleeved.
There is still plenty of space.
Wounds are packed this way or under Volkare token.
I liked this inserts so I wanted to keep them.
If you take figures by its base there is no way you destroy it.

Inspired! I tried to duplicate pabula's idea, and had great success.

The key trick was to cut the bottom off the Legion hex plastic, so it's a hex-shaped hole, and put it over the hex plastic from the base game. The latter needs to be shortened so when the two pieces are stacked on top of each either, they still fit.

Aside from that, I found I couldn't fit all five heroes under the hero/city plastic, so four go under there, and one goes with the cards.

The cards are mostly sleeved, but I ran out. The only cards that still need sleeving are the new wounds, and about 5 elite units.

Unlike pabula, I bagged the individual monster colors (brown, green, etc). They go under the Volkare/Wolfhawk plastic.

We'll see how the hex plastic works in practice -- I may need to clean the cuts up, and glue the two pieces together.

Hey, if this is the box porn thread...

I'm not as stressed about the components as some, so I don't know if this will work for anyone sleeving everything, but I've got _almost_ the whole game inside the expansion box:

Map tiles are in the top left, with an elastic keeping them in place. City/Knight minis are stuffed in mostly around the edges, it's snug enough that they really don't move around much. Mana crystals in a baggie on top (their original baggie, no less).

Bottom right there's a little gap, I've stuffed the dice (in their baggie) down there which is just the right size to prevent any movement of the deck boxes.

Each player has their own 50-card hard plastic case which holds the starting deck and all assorted tokens. There's also cases that size for units and wounds (which are both pretty full up). All the rest of the cards (adv actions, spells, artifacts, tactics, site descriptions) are in a 100-card case, and a final 100-card case holds all the ruins/enemy tokens.

Detail:

The Day/Night source board sits across the top, my only problem is that the fame/reputation board doesn't fit in the box, nor do the original rulebooks :( Rulebooks aren't an issue these days with PDFs on an ipad, but I'm giving serious thought to redoing the fame board to fit inside as well. It'd keep the lid from closing _all_ the way down, but it'd be just awesome to be carrying the whole game around in the smaller box.

Alas, in the meanwhile I'm having to make do with the big box - I had to slice out one side of the large tray to make enough room for the card boxes:

Minis are in the top left, loose. Green terrain tiles are bottom left. Brown terrain fits on top of the minis after some judicial snipping of _just_ the top edge of the insert tray. Boxes of cards and the mana/dice baggies fill up the rest, with boards/rulebooks on top.

I used black foam board and glued it together adding spaces for specific items in it, also bought some plastic containers for the tokens and skills.

Regards,

Tom

Chuck,

got them in a local cheap (all for 1 dollar) store, I dont know the brand but they came in packages of 4 for 1 dollar. Same thing with the case, but they were 3. Next time I will write down the brand and let you know. Sorry for the inconvenience.
