2-4, and it takes them 45-60 minutes to do so.
There's an expansion available as well that allows 5-6 to change the bulb.
Sorry. I had a hard time sleeping last night.

I was going to say 2.
1 to change the lightbulb; 1 to complain about the theme.

You obviously don't understand the light bulb, it is best with 2!

Based on recent discussions I am going to say just one...
... but he's apparently going to passionately rip the shrinkwrap from the box of bulbs, lovingly remove all the bulbs from the package and bag them separately, and then carefully screw in the bulb, allowing none to come near with food or drink while the bulb is in use.

How Many BGGers Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb?
Eight
One to read the rules One to complain about component quality One to moan about downtime One to tell you German light bulbs are better than American ones One to brag that he's been changing lightbulbs since before the Sumo article about them One to start making up variants before even trying it as it is in the instructions One to log it in the Lightbulbs Changed database One to generate statistics about the whole process

2? ... Not enough conflict or interaction when there's just 2. For this really to shine 4 is a must...

I play this 2-player all the time with my wife, and just like Lost Cities she beats me every time. I ALWAYS end up being the one to change the bulb.

Is it truly considered light bulb changing if it doesn't involve bulb-turning?

...a word of warning:
Don't try to paste a theme on a bulb. The one I tried smelled like burning hair. Not good.

Two. One to change the bulb, and one to complain that they liked the old one better.

Could someone condense all this into a strategy article for me?

But this only applies if it is a Euro-bulb. A War-bulb could easily take the better part of a weekend.

On a side note, I have a 60 watt bulb, which works fine and both my wife and I love it, as do others we have over. But on the shelf in my local store is a super whizzy 100 watt bulb, that's bigger and brighter. It also comes in a fantastic box. Ultimately, what we have does the job and we can read by it, see by it etc. Should I shell out the extremely high price for the bright version, when essentially what it does is the same as the 60 watt version I have?

There are so many better games than Change the Lightbulb. The problem is that's all that people see on the shelves at their local store. If they only knew about Fling the Wrench or Pummel the Shut-In they'd realize there's a whole other world of games out there.

Change the Lightbulb is a good gateway game, but once you understand it I'd recommend:
- Feed the Cat - Take Out the Trash - Paint the Fence - Wash the Car

Change the Lightbulb? I've only played it solitaire and I find it repetitive and lacking in challenge unless using The Real Tall Ladder expansion in solitaire play.

True. But Clean the Commode isn't one of them. It is much more enjoyable to watch others play it than play it yourself though.

I prefer to get my lightbulbs at timewelllit.com or brightagain.com.
Currently the 100W Siemens is ranked number one at lightbulbgeek.com but the French National Electric company has a 3-way 150 W in the number 2 spot although many say it's overhyped.

"Take Out the Trash" is Over Rated, and completely unlike "Change the Light Bulb". Why are you making such horrid recommendations? Most of us have the have upgraded " Take Out the Trash " with "Stinky Home" anyway.
