Who would put a sweater on a duck?!
I've now lived in Lawrence, KS for about 15 months. I like it here very much. Lawrence is a lovely college town and the downtown area, Mass. St., is unique, even uniquely good.
Since moving here, I've bumped up against the rather weird phenomenum of being a collector. I had always--at least in my mind--been a games player. But now I have moved away from my games group. What happens then?
The answer is surely different for different people. I did find a receptive and welcoming weekly group. To my surprise, though, I found myself being a collector: first of the Eon games, then of a few old AH titles, and now, of a few other "forgotten" gems. It has caused me to reassess the purpose of my purchases, and though I don't have answers for anyone but myself, I hope it is helpful to know that we are in the same, separate boat.
My ideal gaming is among well-traveled friends with 4-10 hours to spare. The attraction of 30-90 minute games is impossible to rebut, yet, I'll make every effort.
Game on, Earth, you are beautiful in your contention.
