Merry Christmas to you and your family Santa! We wish you are having a wonderful Christmas up at the North Pole. All that rushing around the globe delivering presents must have taken a toll on the body (and the reindeers are probably exhausted too) so I hope things will slow down a bit for you now so that you can enjoy the Christmas joy with loved ones.
Caleb woke up this morning feeling all excited about his gift and asked if he could open his gift. I said that it'll be very good if we can open it after we're back from church first and he agreed!
Didn't expect him to do that. He's been a very patient boy to have waited this long to open his gift and I'm really very very proud of him Santa.
You can see how happy he is once he's discovered what you've given him.
He was exclaiming "Yayyyyy!!! More Duplo!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!" when he saw the box.
That is an excellent gift Santa. I wish you could have seen how happy Caleb was.
Santa, I'm sorry that in all that excitement, I'd forgotten to take photos of myself with the gifts you've given me! We were interrupted midway through by Jacob screaming for his feed. hehehe Or maybe he's upset that he didn't get anything this time
Thank you so much for Legacy and for personally making those children names to go with the game! I'm absolutely over the moon to finally put my hands on this game which I've wanted for quite a while ever since watching the video reviews. Tonight, Yingying and I went over the rules with the plan to give it a go tomorrow. We're just sooooo excited Santa!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you said that there's another parcel heading my way from Games Paradise/Toys Paradise but it hasn't arrived. It's alright though because I have Legacy to enjoy fully
I didn't get to find out who sent me the two copies of Settlers of Catan 4th edition base game... still a mystery!
Santa, I just want to say a BIG BIG THANK YOU on behalf of Caleb, Jacob and Yingying as well for your wondrous generosity this Christmas. You've touched us with your kindness, and we feel so privileged to be able to share Jacob's first Christmas with you. It is something very special.
Please take good care of yourself Santa. Have a blessed Christmas filled with abundant joy, peace and love!
Thank you for shedding some light on this mysterious package which still remains a mystery today. I wonder who could've sent it to me? Hmm...
Yingying was just as surprised that it's not from you, so we decided to look at the contents together. Turns out to be two identical copies of Settlers of Catan 4th edition!
Don't need two copies, so one of them will be given away in the Spirit of Christmas!
Oooh now I'm getting all excited for Christmas morning to come!!!
I hope Santa is keeping well over in the North Pole and that the hectic schedule is not taking a toll on you. Remember to take a breather now and then and put the feet up
Take care Santa! Thanks once again for taking the time to check with Games Paradise/Toy Paradise.
A very quick update Santa. A parcel has arrived from the States, which I think must be from you. I asked Yingying to open it to check if it's wrapped. It isn't, so I've asked her to wrap it up to leave under the tree. She did say that I'm going to be very happy.
Another parcel arrived today from Toys Paradise in Australia. Is this the order that you mentioned in the last message? Yingying opened it up for me to check and gave me a quizzical look and asked why did Santa order two copies of the same thing? OK Santa... please tell me what's the reason
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts Santa! You've made us all very happy this festive season and I'm so looking forward to Christmas Day!!
Apologies for the recent silence but you've hit the nail on the head again!!
We've been busy with our little arrival who was born on 3 Dec at 12.52pm local time after a much much shorter labour. Yingying's waters broke at 1am and we met our midwife at Tauranga Hospital at 7.45am to be admitted, and baby Jacob was delivered 5 hrs later. That's waaaay shorter and less gruelling than the 31-hour marathon we had to endure with Caleb!
We were transferred out of the hospital to the new Bethlehem Birthing Centre at 4pm on the same day where mom and babe stayed in luxurious comfort for three nights. They were discharged on Saturday 1pm. I tell you Santa.... the food they serve there is heavenly! They have an in-house chef making delicious food day and night.... that's just soooo amazing! And I feel this is something our Tauranga community should be extremely proud of.
Santa, Yingying said that she's taken your advice and decided not to get Legacy for now.
With Jacob to look after and feed, doubt it she has the energy left to look around for games anyway!
Santa, I don't even know how to begin to express myself ... knowing that you have another parcel on the way from the North Pole for me. This is such a humbling, delightful, momentous festive season for us and you've just made it even more special and amazing!!! Really, I don't know how to express my thanks to the kind generosity that you've blessed our family with. And I really wish that your own Secret Santa has been amazing for you too.
Now that I've played my Family Expansion action, I better go help out and give the little one a bath and nappy change.
Take care Santa!!

I hope you're well over in the North Pole Santa.
Yingying wants to ask you a quick question... She's thinking of getting us a copy of Legacy: duke de crechy but wasn't sure if that's a wise move since it's also on my Secret Santa wish list ... Oops!
What should we do?
Again you've surprised me completely! How did you even know my job??? I really shouldn't even be surprised anymore because I know Santa knows everything! Do you get your network of elves to watch me? I couldn't see any of them around no matter how hard I look!
Power Grid is still one of my favourites but I guess I've played with the same maps too often that it got a bit boring. We have a copy of it at Powerco too, and quite often we'd play it during Friday evening drinks+nibbles. Probably an expansion is what's needed to spice things up again!
I haven't played Caverna yet and I will put it down on my "to play" list. Haven't seen it around at my Tauranga games group yet. Maybe I'll need to check it out for myself. Thanks so much for the recommendation Santa!!
Very much enjoying this year's Christmas cheer because this is going to be a special and exciting one with the impending arrival of baby no. 2
But before the baby comes, there's a lot to do around the house ... e.g. gardening stuff, house wash etc.
Just finished seeding the lawn. Phew!! Caleb will be able to kick his football on the lawn soon enough.
Santa, we would like to wish you and Mrs Claus and the rest of the family a very Happy Thanksgiving over in brrrr... very cold North Pole!!
Thanks very much for your words of wisdom re: potty training. It's really enlightening to hear that forgetting one's toilet training is possible. As they say, every kid is unique and this is all part of the joys of parenting!
We'll let Caleb decide when he's ready to do it.
By the way, Santa, I want to tell you that Caleb's gift has arrived safely on Friday. The elves at Toyworld did a wonderful job packaging it up and it was nicely giftwrapped with a card included. I showed it to him and told him that it's from Santa and that he cannot open it until Christmas so it has to go sit under the tree.
Every morning, he goes and sits beside the tree to look at the gift. Every day he'd ask me if it's Christmas yet.
He's giving his willpower a good workout.
Thanks so much Santa!! Your gift to Caleb is already bringing lots of Christmas joy to us all!
I hope your weekend has been great so far, send our regards to Mrs Claus and the hardworking elves!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do you even know where I work and that it's only a 12 minute journey to work????????????
But I know Santa knows everything! And Santa is watching me constantly. So I should not be surprised
HAHA Santa I'm not a maniac
Caleb is a very good boy most of the time. Occasionally he would try his luck (as all kids do) to get more than what he bargains for.
It's been enjoyable--particularly for me--when it comes to parenting him. Maybe because I'd parent him (or sometimes "discipline" him) with a sense of humour, and that's my approach. So he knows his dad doesn't ever need to get angry or shout at him if he misbehaves or does something to make his Mom angry. My hope is that he understands I do it this way because I respect him, so he can do the same with others, and that you are the master of your own emotions so you can control how you react.
What do you think of that Santa?
Hmmm... Maybe Santa can give me some tips/advice on one issue. Caleb is 3 now, but he refuses to part with his nappy and use the bathroom instead. We've tried almost every trick and Yingying had even resorted to bribery in order to get him to sit on the throne! HAHAHAHA Doesn't work! Any ideas? I was saying to Yingying that maybe we should just take it easy (since daycare isn't complaining) and just let him do it when he feels ready.
Take care Santa, I hope you're having a wonderful day over at the North Pole! Stay warm and please don't make the elves work too hard
I completely agree with what you said that Caleb will be growing even quicker than I think he will. Sometimes I can't help but wonder where did the three years go? Time just flew by so quickly and the little baby has grown to be a lovely boy who's put so much laughter into our lives!! Constantly I remind Yingying and myself that Caleb is only small for a short time so let's make the most of it and cherish the moments
Do not worry if the gifts arrive at separate times. We will be putting all the gifts under the tree and they will only be opened at Christmas. Have to teach little Caleb that patience and determination are important things in life!!
Thank you for everything Santa! Thank you for going over and beyond to make Christmas this year a wonderful and exciting one for our family! We won't be moving back to Singapore anymore
And for sure, you're more than welcome to visit NZ and stay with us and even at Paihia to have a well-deserved break!
Take care Santa!
Oh my God!! SANTA.........
How in the world did you find out the names of my wife and son?!
Santa, I can see that you're watching me constantly and I believe that. Do not worry, I will not neglect Yingying and Caleb. They mean the world to me! Maybe this next piece of news wouldn't surprise you at all because you're Santa
Yingying is currently 36 weeks pregnant with our second child (a boy) and we're getting ready and waiting for his arrival. Caleb can't wait to see his little brother so that he can play with him!
I'm just absolutely stunned, bewildered, amazed reading your email Santa. Caleb is in fact really into his Legos these days as well as his Thomas the Tank Engine Wooden trains. I really enjoy just sitting with him and building stuff together with him.
I've also started Caleb off on board games Santa. We bought a few HABA titles "Tier auf Tier" and "Monza" from Amazon.de and we've thoroughly enjoyed playing Tier auf Tier with him. He keeps telling me that he wants to grow big fast so that he can play Daddy's games with me!!
Hearing those words melted my heart completely!
Santa, the kindness and generosity you've shown to my family has been a humbling experience for me. I am deeply grateful for that! Please do not worry about the gifts being late... They always say "Good things are always worth waiting for"
I hope you're having a good weekend over in the North Pole. Please remember to rest up a bit and not overwork yourself.
I was so rapt to receive your messages in my Geekmail this evening! Despite your immensely busy schedule, you've even found time to go through my contributions (limited as it may be) to BGG, and that has left a warm feeling inside.
Thanks for asking about Container. I had to wait for roughly a month before Valley Games got back to me and said they could not send out a replacement box unless I paid something like $10 plus shipping for it. I did not think it was worth it in the end. So I was left with a terribly crushed game of Container. Ever since then, Valley Games has been going through some very tough times and I'm extremely disappointed with how the fans have been treated over the Kickstarters of Up Front.
Santa, you're more than welcome to stay at the holiday home in Paihia whenever the hectic Christmas period is over. It would be a good place to spend summer... a quiet small town feel. Definitely, you're most welcome to take a break up there! And after that, you could also come over to Tauranga to stay with us.
Can't wait to hear from you again Santa. You've completely made my day .... ummm.... night!
