i know this feeling: http://www.dorktower.com/2001/01/19/comics-archive-47/
My story is that I grew up playing games, and with 4 younger sisters I was always able to get somebody (usually a few of us at a time) to play! I always enjoyed "classic" games like Stratego, Backgammon, Risk, and uh, Candyland. (Hey, it was easy to get the little sisters to play.) One Christmas we received an incredible Ravensburger game titled Master Labyrinth
. I was amazed at its fanciful, easy flair and its amazing gameplay! It was like nothing I had ever seen...and I wondered at the notion that there must be more out there like this!
In college, I enjoyed time with great friends playing video games more than ever ... but one day my roommate opened his closet to reveal an entire stash of board games. I didn't even know he had them in there! And they were incredible titles -- Star Wars: Epic Duels
and Lord of the Rings RISK
and even something called HeroQuest
!!! So there
were those games I had always known were out there but had never seen!
And that was just the start....
