I have been playing games for, well, ever it seems. I enjoy a wide variety of games (RPG's, Mini's, etc.), but for the most part I spend most of my time these days playing Board Games. I am a member of the Appalachian Board Gamers and we are lucky to have several members with huge collections, so we get to play lots and lots of different stuff.
I am the founding director of CharCon (www.charcon.org
) which we like to think is the first real gaming convention in West Virginia. We started in 2006 and hope we can continue for many, many years.
I have three children (1 boy/2 girls) who are all interested in playing games (wonder where they got that). In support of that and of kids playing games in general, I teach an after school board game class at their school. Its a great way to expose kids to games they would never get a chance to play (especially in our rural area) and at the same time, get their brains working. The fun never hurts either! Recently, I managed to convince my wife to run a similar class focused on younger kids, so I could focus on an older age group. In spite of pretty much hating my stupid games, she agreed and has actually enjoyed herself. Success!
