I enjoyed board games as a kid, playing all the typical mass market games. At age 10, I started playing RPGs and despite slowing a bit during high school that continued. Around 2000, I played Settlers of Catan and didn't really enjoy it (still don't). A few years later I played Carcassonne and was drawn in.
Our every other week role-playing stopped in the first half of 2007 when my wife, Lanica, gave birth to our identical twin boys, Noah and Micah. At that point we had a small collection of games that has grown. We invite a small group over every two weeks to play board games for a couple hours and occasionally I'll get out to events elsewhere. Our kids have been playing games now for a couple of years which has expanding some opportunities to play.
