Born and living in Cologne, Germany but with croatian roots.
First active boardgame memories are Sagaland and some more complex card games like Canasta.
Later played a lot of the classics Risk, Hotel, Monopoly...
Frist Fantasy contact with Heroquest, great fun.... and was followed by Talisman. After that there was a great period of Space Hulk gaming.
Played as Teenie RPG "Das Schwarze Auge" and Shadowrun regulary.
In this time I found my holy grail of gaming. Chaotic Fantasy mixed with sports elements: BLOOD BOWL. With some League games we had a ton of fun and some unforgetable moments.
Tried some tabletop games, but not my cup of tea.
Thereby I recognized that games need a board as a platform.
During my twenties RPG and boardgames played a minor role. PC/Online games filled the gap.
With my late twenties Settlers of Catan started to rise my interest for boardgames again.
Now a days I have the possibility to play boardgames regulary 2 - 3 evenings a week and to attend at a Cologne Blood Bowl League.
I like a lot of Ameritrash games, especially with zombies or aliens, but also some classic Eurogames, e.g. from Knizia or Schacht.
At sports game I have also a high interest.
So I like games with theme and interaction/confrontaion, but the game length should not go above 3h. I appricate the nice streamlined and elegant mechanism from the Eurogames.
So the best games are good themed gmes with a solid mechanism, but can have dice and calcuable possibilities, e.g BLOOD BOWL.
