Hard to believe I've been on BGG for 8 years now. My tastes and my gaming partners have changed a lot during that time. I've gone from solo to 2-player to complex modern euros to 18XX and heavy economic games to simpler, more interactive games to now beginning to look in on some conflict simulation games. After 8 years, I'd say I like a little bit of everything. My only loves are my gaming partners -- my kids, my life partner, and my girlfriend. They've become my primary gaming partners and I'm good with that. I'm still a member of the Cult of the New, but with them as my gaming partners, I'm no longer as active a member.... and I think that's a good thing.
These days, I'm more interested in more plays of fewer games (my h-index is now 26) and designing games as the inspiration hits. My most recent design (and the one I've spent the most time on) is 18SW, a 2 - 4 player short (2 - 4 hour) 18XX game with varying levels of difficulty. I think my collection is slowly stabilizing and hopefully this year will see less additions to it.
