I've been gaming in one way or another my entire life. Mostly board games as a kid, then video games in my teen years, back to board games and occasionally video. Scotland Yard holds great memories of times with my aunts and cousins in Portland. I played D&D as a kid and teenager with my parents and their friends. No we play a lot of card games, Dominion, Legendary, Resident Evil, etc. Descent, Imperial Assault, Memoir '44 are favorites of ours. My husband introduced me to Talisman and from then on we have tried different and new games building a huge collection.
I started painting figures after we picked up Descent. I finished those and have done quite a few other games. You can find me on instagram at geekygirlpaints. I do commission work.
The thrifting bug hit me when I was unemployed for a bit in Atlanta. My first thrift trip was to America's Thrift and I picked up a copy of 1967 Acquire for $.99. It was complete. We sold it to a woman who met up with us before Thanksgiving and told us what a wonderful game it was. A family tradition for them. We vowed then that we would keep the next copy, or at least try it out. About a year later, after hundreds of other games found, we stumbled upon the holy grail of all grails, 1999 AH Acquire. We loved it and regularly play it.
My husband and I are pretty big Disney freaks. We have annual passes and frequently the parks year round. I'm always looking to add games that were theme park exclusives.
