I used to be a civil engineer. Right now I'm a stay-at-home-Mom. I have 2 daughters ages 14 & 10. I volunteer at school & a local thrift book store, taxi 2 girls EVERYWHERE & try to help out at Sunday school when I'm not in desperate need of sleep! Never envisioned this as my life but what a wonderful surprise it is.
I came up with my user name from my sister who one Christmas asked what my kids wanted for Christmas. I gave her a list of games & she was indignant that none of the titles were ones she knew. She very much enjoyed asking me if I was a "game snob Mom". I replied, YES, there are so many great games out there & wasting our precious time on boring ones does no one any good! Thanks to Amazon...Santa was good to my girls.
My sister & I are 10 years apart & our parents say we were both only children. My father played games with me when I was younger. He'd watch golf on TV & we'd play a game at the same time. (back then there was only 1 TV in each house). I loved it & would be excited when golf came on. By the time my sister was at game playing age modern technology had arrived & she had a tv, phone etc in her bedroom. It's a shame, those were very special times for me, she really missed out on something special. My Dad passed away over 11 years ago from lung cancer. He was only 64. I still really miss him. He was one of my best friends & was how I learned what unconditional love is.
I'm so glad that I can share my love for board games with my family & friends while building those same bonds I treasured so much. I hope someday my kids will share the same experiences with their families.
