I've played boardgames for as long as I can remember... and I still have most of them (some dating back to the 1950s). I got hooked on wargames in the 60s and 70s, Bridge in the 80s, and German-style games in the 90s.
Over the past 50+ years (yes, I was born in 1951), my games collection has grown to close to 1,700 boardgames, books on games, CCGs, magazines, miniatures games, and role-playing games and supplements. It would probably be larger, but I'm running out of space and I have a fixed income since I retired in 2002, so my purchases are a little more selective. Because of my fixed income, I have been selling off a few games on ebay, but there will always be room for more.
I'm also a movie buff and currently have over 1,300 DVDs (another reason why my game purchases have dropped off).
My Personal Top 10
list indicates my All-Time Favourite games which, unless another game like Louis XIV is released, will probably never change (in no particular order). My ratings try to match the BGG Rating System fairly closely, but I tend to rate games that I find to be 'fun' to play a little higher (and that is a totally subjective measure).
My Hot 10
list indicates the games that I have played the most over the past 12 months. I used to log every game played, but I've fallen behind over the past year or so because of other commitments. After a few year's hiatus, I'll try to start up again soon.
There should probably be a closer correlation between these two lists, but there are a LOT of newer games that I have to try more than once.
