The story of my life as a gamer? Here it is.
I've played games since I was a kid, starting with games like Mix-max
, Guess Who?
, and later Monopoly
, The Game of Life
and Pay Day
When I was about 10 years old (about 1980), I learned how to play Chess
, which changed my taste in games. I even joined the local chess club. At home, we started to play a new range of games, including Risk
and Scotland Yard
During my time in university, I learned how to play Go
, but more importantly I was introduced to Axis & Allies
, Magic: The Gathering
and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons
I began collecting games after about 1995, when I got a copy of Die Siedler von Catan
I now have a wife and two young children. Fortunately, all three like to play games.
I like complex games and games that include pickup and delivery and/or negotiation mechanisms. I dislike party games. See also my Top 10 games.
My Hot 10 consists of my most played games over the past six months (anything less than six months seems to produce arbitrary numbers...).
I live approximately at hex 2811 on
