More than anything, I like weird stuff.
I love graphic novels (Watchmen, From Hell, Bone, The Tale of One Bad Rat). I enjoy reading; I was a huge sci-fi fantasy buff, but as I age I have found my interests veering towards history and true crime.
I have a 5 year old boy (with another boy due in January) which has become pretty much the center of my universe. Anything that will allow us to spend time together is good in my book --which includes a lot of board games, even those not directed at them. (Give Napoleon's Triumph or Hammer of the Scots to a 5 year old and be amazed at all the unsuspected toy potential there).
My favorite games are the long, epic ones, whether they are war-ish or economic. My current favorite would have to be Indonesia, altough I used to enjoy longer games. Alas, my group has aged and I find it harder and harder to rope them (and myself) for a full fledged marathon. So I usually play mid-weight Euros. (Not complaining; I like those too).
I'm always on the lookout for good solo games. Pandemic has become my solitaire of choice, altough I greatly enjoy Ambush and similar games. Am working on translating my German Tales of the Arabian Nights (yes, I know there is an English edition coming soon, but I paid good money for this one back when it was grail, dagnabbit).
I like DIY. Am looking for a good solution to create cards using my inkjet. Alas, there's no Michaels here, so a lot of the craft store supplies are kind of hard to get.
Love Chit-Chat, but I'm more of a lurker than a poster. I know my sense of humor doesn't always go over well and am self-concious enough to refrain from putting myself on the spot. Guess I need a thicker skin.
