I will be away until Tuesday, November 25th, with only sporadic access to geekmail. Please be patient with any delay in response. Thanks!

I like playing games of almost any type, provided it is accompanied by the appropriate group of people. Of late I've been leaning towards longer games that keep me interested with theme and fun mechanics. I don't at all mind luck as long as it is either controllable in some fashion or if the degree of luck is appropriate for the weight of the game. I've also found myself straying away from games that are too heavy in the work-factor. My work-to-fun ratio sensitivity has been going up, probably in relation to all the "real world" work I've found myself doing. As such, I'll respect games like Puerto Rico or Caylus, but they're not my favorites anymore.

The top five of my Top 10 list are fairly set in place - the bottom five may fluctuate more according to my whimsy. In no cases are they necessarily based on my ratings for the games themselves.

My 'Hot Games' list is comprised of games that I am looking to either play or buy in the near future. If it's a game I've been thinking about recently, it's on that list.
