Born in Odessa in the USSR. Lived there for 9.5 years. Lived in Rome for 6+ months. Moved to Brooklyn, New York. Have lived there for the last 30+ years. For the past year I have been splitting time between there and a house in Columbia County in upstate New York, and intend to do that; it is pleasant, away from the city's grind, and has a lovely pond which pretty much sold the house.
I am a published author in the fields of: horror, dark fantasy, fantasy, mainstream fiction, poetry. Currently I am busy at work on my magnum opus, "A Watcher in the Darkness." I am into Aikido and Tai Chi. My faith is Hinduism; I am a devotee of Vishnu the Preserver, as well as Shiva the Destroyer.
My gaming path has been a wild and wooly one. The first game I learned was Shogi while in Italy. Then it was Chess. My mom bought me Stratego and played it with me often. The first game I bought was Avalon Hill's Gettysburg. I then played and owned most of the "Book Shelf" games, including all of titles in the Squad Leader series. At age 13 I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons. I have been involved in role-playing and board gaming ever since. My gaming club ran a convention called "Knight Games" in Brooklyn, and has also supported in various official cappacities most of the Double Exposure events (including Dreamation and DexCon).
My significant other is also a gamer. She is the lovely Ruth Pinsky, who was involved with Knight Games, as well as the Double Exposure stuff. We are both owned by our 3 cats: Blackjack, Skittles, and Pepper.
