I started playing boardgames as a kid with my cousins, mainly Monopoly, Risk, and Axis and Allies.
I started playing Chess in high school, and it remains my favorite game. I'm average at it. I mostly play the Sicilian against e4 and Indian defenses against d4. As white, I tend to play e4 more.
I started playing bridge about 5 or 6 years ago, but haven't played in a while. I still love it though. I play(ed) weak twos, puppet stayman, jacoby transfers, 5 card major, and 15-17 hcp for 1NT.
As far as eurogames & strategy games, I first got into them through Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne, which I bought around 2005. I stopped playing when I moved away for grad school in 2006 because I couldn't find any other people who wanted to play (and I didn't have the time). I moved back to California in the Fall of 2009, and started boardgaming again.
My Hot 10 are games that I have not played that I really want to play. They're not really in any particular order.
