A note to anyone looking at my For Trade list:
I actually use this list as a way to track games I would like to sell at local conventions. There are very few games I am actually interested in trading for at the moment. I am also not willing to sell any game in my collection that is not flagged as For Trade. Please don't bother asking me. Thank you.
My name is Phil. I am 31. I live in Maine. I am married. I am a father.
I got in everyone's hostile little face. Yes, these are wooden cubes from boardgaming. Yes, I'm comfortable with that. I am enlightened.
"The goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important - not the winning." - Reiner Knizia
"When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." - C. S. Lewis
"Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion." - Wedding CrashersThings I have learned about myself as a gamer:
I enjoy the game, not the win.
I would rather play a sub par game with people I like than play my favorite games with people I dislike.
I subscribe to the Cult of the Old.
I play fast. I see no point in agonizing over minor decisions but at the same time I have no problem with taking time on complicated turns. I enjoy playing games with players of similar dispositions.
I learn best by playing and seeing the game first hand rather than reading rules.
The heavier the better. (ex: Go
, Advanced Squad Leader
, Napoleon's Triumph
My favorite designers include Stefan Feld
, Wolfgang Kramer
, and Reiner Knizia
I dislike games with very little substance. (ex: Dungeon Lords
, Arkham Horror
, Shadows over Camelot
I do not like race games: (Exception: K2
I dislike most Martin Wallace
games. I acknowledge that he is a great designer but after awhile all of his games start to feel the same for me. (Exception: Steam
I dislike most Ameritrash. (Exception: Space Hulk (third edition)
Any game I rate a 9 or higher I must own.Gaming Glossary:
