Hello, I have been in Phoenix over 5 years now, after moving from San Jose, CA (which I lived about 2 years in). I discovered board games in 2006 and started playing with a group of people at my work. That group has gotten smaller due to people moving away now, but I've been able to meat a lot of great people in the valley to game with, so I am not going without gaming.

I generally like games that involve some type of strategy, light to heavy. I also can enjoy games with different levels of luck, but do not generally like games that are nearly all luck driven. I my true love is Ameritrash (Descent, Tide of Iron, War of the Ring, Memoir 44). The style game with heavy theme, lots of plastic, and lots of dice rolling. I enjoy most games, however, and I've played many Euros and Wargames as well. Also enjoy D&D 4th Edition quite a bit and go to RPGA meet ups.
Painting and making terrain has provided a good bit of enjoyment for me as well. Most of my plastic bits games, I have fully painted (Descent, War of the Ring, Doom). I've created numerous buildings and various terrains for different games when in the mood as well. Creating sweet looking game pieces is a lot of fun.
I now have expanded into miniature wargaming. I've spent a good bit of time building up 2 Warhammer 40k armies (Space Marines and Tyranids). I've also dabbled with Lord of the Rings:SBG. I've been tempted to start Warhammer Fantasy, but so far have held off that urge.
I also enjoy hiking and photography, cooking (when I'm in the mood), and working on projects around the house.
