My name is Dominic and I am new board game fan. I rediscovered my love of games in September of 2012. I had always liked games but never really grew up with them around. I do remember playing a fair bit Stratego and Risk growing up, but I never really matured my interest until I myself had matured.
I have been an avid PC gamer for most of my life and I assume that's where most of my gaming time/money/interest went. Somehow I found my self on this wonderful site and it reignited a long suppressed interest in rich and complex games. I found myself looking for games to get into the hobby and I used the great resources available here to start the my collection.
I started with a good one and purchased Academy Game's wonderful title, Conflict of Heroes: Storms of Steel! Kursk 1943. I soon followed up that purchase with Conflict of Heroes: Price of Honour - Poland 1939. I have really enjoyed these games and I see myself as a long time fan of the Conflict of Heroes franchise.
Next, I moved on to find something that was a bit different from my initial games. I am fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic world of The Hobbit
and The Lord of the Rings
. I was also interested in the idea of getting into some card games. So Fantasy Flight's The Lord of the Rings the Card Game was a perfect fit. I recently acquired the core set and I am looking forward to adding Adventure Packs. I can't get enough of this epic cooperative game!
My game shelf is very modest at this point, but we all start somewhere. I hope to steer my gaming passion from PC gaming towards table top gaming in the future. I am also very excited to teach my children how to play games in the years to come.
Thanks Board Game Geek!
