Thanks for stopping by, I know you are very busy at this time of the year and your little elves are working overtime.
I am pretty sure I've been a good gamer, husband and father to our Daughter. I went through my current tastes and had to rework my wishlist quite a bit. I took the time to rate my games on the list to help you with what I like.
This is my second time participating in the SS, last year I had a blast, I went the extra mile with my target and spent way too much. Let me point you in the direction of some elves that might be able to assist you, you see shopping in NZ can be tricky:http://www.nzgameshop.com/
(UK based, free shipping to NZ though)www.mightyape.co.nzwww.bookdepository.co.uk
You will probably notice our prices are quite high here, so http://www.nzgameshop.com/
is usually quite a bit cheaper.
But if you prefer not to use these ones, no problem as it is always nice to have something come straight from the north pole
I'm very happy to be taunted!
If you decide to go with something like Mage Wars, any accessories are most welcome ( extra spell books, core tome sets ect), but also expansions would greatly increase the value of Mage Wars. Also if you did look at Mage Wars any Promo Cards to add to it would be just plain cool.
I have rated my list from 1-4 (must - thinking about it) - I would really prefer that if you can look at my number 1's first, but honestly I am grateful for what you send
P.S If you find something that you think I might like not on my wishlist, feel free to ask for more information, I do prefer to go by my wishlist though if possible.
Thanks again for being my Secret Santa, and I hope that your Santa is thoughtful and generous!
So onto a little bit about me,
I've been gaming since 2010 and started with War of the Ring and soon met some local gamers and so it began. Over the next 4 years, I developed my collection based on what I liked and tried not to double up on any games in our group
Lately I have gotten into a lot more two player games, especially Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game
Also my two player partner in crime is getting Mage Wars so this would a game to look at as we are both ex MTG players.
I am open to most games and have a very good taste, love my strategy games and also my gaming time is somewhat limited so a solo game is always a welcome addition (some of which you might see the potential in my wishlist) Not opposed to playing a two player game solo either, also if you think that there is something I have left of my list that you feel I would enjoy, feel free to suggest it.
I love Co-op's that can be played solo, sci-fi and fantasy based as you will see in my list. Also a splash of wargames, honestly though I play a huge variety and love card games that are either playable solo or two player epic battles.
This last year has been a very tough year and on many fronts and I felt like giving up sometimes, you see since Christmas 2013 we have been dealing with a very tough personal family thing.
My inspiration for taking part in the 2013 SS and everyone after that was to do with my Father, you see he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2013, this was tough for all of us. This was hard on mum at the time, but as a family we pulled together and coping a bit better with this (He is coping remarkably well with medication, but it is still a huge unknown). Every day/month/year that goes by, we are grateful for the time we have him with us and every year that I participate in the SS I will spend more on my target.
Was made redundant in January (just after the Christmas break), got a job two weeks later and lost my job six months later. Before I lost my job I had a fairly big health scare. Around August I was hospitalized with an SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia), Pneumonia. I spent two days in hospital, I was fortunate to have such a loving family, wife and in-laws to get me back to health. Fortunately I am back working now
Since that day, I have been caffeine free, both in coffee and energy drinks
Well that sums up my crappy year, but I am not going to let that get me down. I look forward to spoiling someone with a bit of Christmas cheer this year
In life, you can let something like a health scare, job loss or a personal family issue define who you are or you can do what I did.....Rise to the challenge, push down the barriers and rise above and become a stronger person.Veni, vidi, vici
