My wife and I love to play games together. If you really want to know what we think about games, you can follow along with us at our board game blog: Too Many Games!!!
My entrance into gaming by way of collectible card games and role playing games. I played these through much of high school, and in college began to venture into board games. After graduating college, I was a very casual gamer. We probably only got one or two new games a year, and we probably only played two or three times a month. That all changed in 2008 when my wife convinced me to go to Gen Con.
Within six months we were both fully into the gaming world. Given my CCG and RPG roots, I tend to like interesting card games that have both good strategic and tactical choices. I also tend to like games with a rich narrative and an engaging theme. On the flip side, I do not care much for perfect information abstract games or cooperative games. While I know those kind of games have their fans, I find both genres to be a mixture of boring and frustrating.
I try to rate and comment every game I play, so it can be really easy to figure out my thoughts on certain games. The top 10 are my top 10, and the hot 10 are basically my wishlist of games I want the most right now.
