2009 Secret SantaI am at BGGcon this year from Nov 19-22. I frequently acquire games there, so if possible you might hold off on buying me something until I have had time to update my wishlists; wait till, say, Nov 25th. Thanks!
A Brief History of Me...AH and SPI wargames with my Dad in the 70s & 80s.
RPGs (mainly D&D) in the 80s and early 90s.
CCGs (way too many of them for way too many $$) from '95 till recently.
First played "Settlers of Catan" in 2003 and the rest, as is typical for BGGers, is history.
I tend to prefer playing as meaty a game as any given time slot allows, but I enjoy fillers, card games, party games and whatnot as well. Don't get to play nearly as much as I used to now that I have a kid at home, but that's a fine trade.
I also have the game design bug. We use a private Wiki and forum system, plus I'm active over at
BGDF.
Top 10: these are some of my current favorites from among my highest rated games (I think all are 8.5 or higher for me).
Hot 10: I'm now using this to track my top 10 games that I own but haven't played yet - my "need to play" hit-list.
I've kept up with entering game plays on BGG since 2004.

I'm a firm believer that you should go into every first gaming experience hoping to win, expecting to lose, and determined to learn.
Ratings: Last Total Update: Nov 5, 2009. I hew fairly closely to the BGG suggested ratings definitions. I only have a few 10s - these are games that I "love" playing, even though they don't necessarily make it to the table with great frequency. Anything that's a 7 or higher is a pretty good game and I'll generally play it any time, although some 7s are better than others, heh.
