Secret Santa: *Update* Thank you for the gifts! After reading the reviews for Android I don't know how I'll be able to play it with my regular group, considering some people say 5 to 7 hours. But I think I'm going to at least have an excuse to get them to meet for a long, long session! Citadels is nice too because I was lacking an easy large group game. Hope the Mrs Claus is doing well and thanks again! =)

I'm interested in all games, how they are designed, and how their mechanics interact and play out. I've been focusing on electronic games / video games for most of my life, but have recently (late 2006ish) discovered the wonders of board games again. I prefer medium to medium-heavy type games that include lots of depth and balanced "randomness" to add variety, but maintaining relative fairness. I also enjoy games with interesting game mechanics that I can explore how they work. Games with multiple paths to victory are a huge plus, as long as there isn't a ton of analysis paralysis involved. I'm not a huge fan of abstract strategy games with no randomness. I also dislike games that have unforseen results from actions or ones that rely on other people to "give the game" to someone else.

I'm currently going for an associates degree in electronic game design from a local community college, and then plan to go for an Advertising major at Temple University or University of Pittsburgh, depending on which will give me more money. My career goal is to venture into any form of game design -- whether it be electronic, board, or card games.

I'm also a fan of all forms of technology. Finally, I love learning about anything and everything and figuring out how to incorporate things into the design of a game.
