Self proclaimed lover of all things geek. RPG's, boardgames, Warhammer, Euro, Party... whatever; I love it all.
My friends would probably describe me as... energetic
I am the guy that makes sound effects when playing games and has no problem cracking jokes under almost any circumstance. I am a lamentably awful miniature painter, which is ironic as I am not a particularly bad artist. I am very likely to change plans at the last minute, or show up at the zero hour when no one thinks I am coming. This drives virtually everyone in my life nuts, but my spontaneous nature is one of my biggest strengths as well. My proudest moments are always as a father or hard working husband.
I love playing games with my daughter, and battle across infinite battlefields with my wife. I attend a Tuesday night gaming session that has been a lot of fun. I am incredibly lucky to have this group locally, as it is replete with cool gamers. Their ranks include the producers of both the D6 Generation podcast and the recent Nerdherders one as well.
BGG: I am currently playing a lot of cooperative games like Arkham Horror and Runebound. My wife and I have become deck-building fanatics ever since the release of Dominion, so the DC Deckbuilder and the Legendary have also made the list. I still manage the occasional tabletop game, and did pick up the 6th edition of Warhammer 40K. My gaming group typically has multiple things on the table every week, so I get exposed to a very broad range of Ameritrash games. We are big theme gamers, no doubt.
My Top 10 is just that; my top 10 games of all time based on my ratings... I try to stay on top of this and update it often.
I was using my Hot 10 to highlight games I've played the most of, but I'm going back to what I've been playing recently and/or what I'm currently interested in.
RPGG: I started on Dungeons and Dragons a looooooong time ago when my brother introduced me to the game at the age of 6 or 7. The Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual is probably more directly responsible for my geekiness than any other supplement. I played some Rifts in college, and have flirted with a few other systems here and there.
I recently started playing AD&D 2nd edition again, and I'm having a blast with my Lizardman Rogue.
VGG: Video games are a huge passion of mine, although I am in a bit of a dark ages here right now. I was an avid PC gamer for years, and I haven't had a solid desktop in a long time. Life has conspired to keep other things on the priority list, so I am just having fun with my 360 right now, when I can. Action and Strategy games are my favorite, with the occasional RPG or simulator thrown in to the mix.
My interests outside of Gaming include Baseball, Hiking, Sci-Fi and Fantasy entertainment, comics, cooking, and good food in general. I am very interested in getting back to music, something I did a lot as a kid, and have been working on some plans to do so.
