My how things have changed...
I was an IT Technician that worked for a gas compressor manufacturer in Calgary. I moved there in 2000 for the job and have survived through two mergers. I celebrated my 10 year anniversary with the company by giving notice and leaving for a career back in my original field. I am now a Designer/CAE Coordinator for an engineering company in Saskatoon. I started there in mid April 2010 and I am loving it so far!
I like to play pretty much any game, my wife is a little more discerning, as she will not play miniatures games. I am a long time RPGer, having run an AD&D, Rolemaster, GURPS (and now) Savage Worlds campaign or other since 1980. I still like the RPGs, I just find there is less and less time for the creation of the game.
I am also a former EQ addict, having played from 1999-2005, and when I quit, I pretty much quit all computer games, and don't even play solitaire.
I now own (many) and play (not enough) Martin Wallace games. I find economic games scratch a certain itch for me, which makes me a happy man.
I now volunteer at Fallcon
as well, to try and make the game community more active. I am also a member of our local meetup group
, and host game nights in my home. I am going to rebuild my weekly gaming group as I don't get the chance here to currently engage in playing heavier games.
