Toronto-based amateur astronomer and computer guy who woke up one day and realized that I really missed playing Advanced Squad Leader
, which I hadn't played since my university opponents scattered. So I started attending a weekly game night my friends were running, and started nudging and pushing and managed to get a few games, until a couple of guys clicked and now I have semi-regular opponents. When we don't play ASL, I've been getting into the eurogames my friends prefer, then going home and getting schooled by my wife at Ticket to Ride. (I still have the edge in Switzerland, though).
Since then, I've found the internet, and the ASL communities here, at Gamesquad and at TABS. I've been playing against people who are more experienced than me now, and I'm learning a lot of painful and excellent lessons. And I'm more convinced than ever that ASL is The Greatest Game of All Time.
