I never know what to write in these things.
I learned chess in first grade from my mother. I use to get upset every time I lost, but my mother told me no one would ever let me win, that I should always try to win no matter what. It's a thought I keep in my head quite often, and hopefully a thought I pass on to my own son as he grows up. I'm an avid boardgamer with a four year old who would rather play Squad Leader or Titan than Chutes and Ladders. Of course, he doesn't play them correctly, but his interest is already there.
I picked up my first roleplaying game in '77. Bet you can't guess what it was: Basic D&D. I drank it in, read keep on the Borderlands multiple times and ran it for friends of mine on numerous occasions. Of course, we graduated quickly to AD&D, because Elves should not be restricted to seven levels. Once I got AD&D, I understood why this was done in Basic, but it didn't matter. I was fully hooked into the imagination and storytelling world of RPGs. I've collected many RPGs through the years (I'm currently cataloging my collection), and I try to play when I can.
