Happily married for over 21 years. We have two daughters, who both play softball and/or volleyball. Every day, except for softball or volleyball days (games/tournaments or practices), there is game time. Of course, between Winter (club and school volleyball), Spring (club volleyball, school and rec softball), Summer (travel softball) and Fall (travel softball), there's a lot of sports. Sometimes it'll be videogames and sometimes it'll be boardgames. Their choice. Sometimes they'll choose opposite of each other so it'll be a two player game.
My gaming started when I was like 5 or 6 and won the first game of Monopoly that I ever played and that was against older kids. When I hit junior high, I discovered 1st Edition AD&D and played that for several years. There was a gaming lull during the high school and junior college years and then got back into a bit of board gaming while attending Fresno State. Many games of 1st edition Space Hulk, a bit of Warhammer 40K and some long lost AD&D on occasion. Scrabble was big also.
Nowadays, the games run the gamut, but find that it is difficult to play longer games, just because of busy schedules and lack of space to keep an on-going game safe from day-to-day life running into it. We always bring some smaller-sized games with us whenever we travel for when we have some downtime.
Even though we live in Northern California, we almost always have annual passports to Disneyland. We go that much. If you asked my 13 year old where the nearest bathroom is or how to get to a certain ride relative to your current location in Disneyland, she'd be able to give you directions.
Just letting anyone know, if one is looking for first edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons items, a good place to find them (short of eBay) is at www.TrollAndToad.com
I'd like some I'd also like some Atomic Robo Fate Dice from Evil Hat.
These are way cool dice. http://www.amazon.com/Set-Metal-D6-Dice-Six-Sided/dp/B005J1J...
