I grew up playing mostly video games, with the exception of a board game here or there. Although the board games I would play were games like Monopoly and Sorry...you know the usual ones people think of when you mention board games. In the Summer of 2010 I stumbled upon Zombie in my Pocket
. The fact that people designed quality games that could be downloaded, printed out and played blew my mind! That was the beginning of many nights of printing and cutting and eventually playing many other great PNP games! My biggest PNP attempt was Zombie Plague
. I hesitantly introduced it to a friend, and then another, and then another and it ended up being a hit! I don't do too much with PNP anymore, but (to my wife's disapproval) I have entered the slippery slope of retail board gaming
So far I only have about 10 games, but I've become known as the guy who always has a game ready to play, and a good one at that! My friends expect me to bring a board game to our 'guy's nights'. It's been a blast! I have so much more of an appreciation now for board gaming as an activity. I love the social interaction that I never was able to experience while playing a video game. I've come a long way in about a year's time. I'm looking forward in the years ahead to many nights of gaming goodness!
