I discovered SPI wargames when at school in the 70s. I even played Highway to the Reich in the summer holidays once with a school friend. Since then I've played a lot of the quicker games socially, but with declining frequency as the years go past. Fairly early player of 18xx games, but don't get to play too many nowadays, and that lack of practice really shows I suspect.

I regularly attend Stabcon in Manchester, and eagerly sign up for the new crop of German games, but sometimes wish the cream of the older ones would stick around some.
