I think I'm gonna take a little break from trading for new games.
The 5 pillars of my gaming nerddom
1) Friends: I used to primarily be a video gamer, and still play my fair share, but have recently made the shift to boardgames. The reason for this is my friends. Boardgames are so much or social then video games. We can all sit around on a Saturday night, chat, drink and have loads of fun, where video games, typically kept us quite.
2)Thrifting: I'm a thrift store junkie! I even have the microbadge to prove it. Thrift stores have been instrumental to my love of the hobby. Spending a buck on some game at a thrift shop and having a blast is a great money:entertainment ration
3) Ameritrash!: Plastic minis, dice, rich themes, I love it! I've always loved playing with cool toys, and that extends to board games. My copy of Agricola has every kinda wooden token I could find. I've recently dove into Heroscape with both feet. I hope I survive the plunge.
4) Community: Two important groups OCBG, my local board game club, everyone has been super nice and accommodating there. And BGG itself, rarely has there been a website where I actually care about people here and get the same feeling in return. That goes double for the Thrift's Guild.
5) Cult of the New: Sadly I think I fit in here too. I always love to try new games, or new things with old games. Thankfully being broke keeps my collection relatively small.Let's take a look at the games I find so Hot they might just burst into flames!
