I'm an experienced gamer, have played board games roleplaying games and video games for over 20 years. Have played wargames for over 15.
I prefer games with some element of chance to them, but more to randomise choices and require flexibility from a player rather than to make success a matter of luck. I like games where I need to react to the game, rather than just go in with a plan and just do that. I like being challenged by unexpected events, in order to overcome them.
I don't like games where players do not interact at all. That doesn't necesarrily mean I only like games with direct conflict, rather I like games where one players actions have an impact on the other players or in the least players are competing over resources/action spaces.
I particularly like board games with elements of building/creating/customising to them. I like resource management, worker placement games, wargames, deck building games.
My longest-term game obsessions are:
Warhammer 40,000 (Chaos Marines are my primary army)
I have experimented with house rules and designing rules for almost as long as I have played board games. I am an amateur game designer and have numerous game design projects in the works, one of which is very nearly a complete game that I intend to get published someday.https://www.facebook.com/pages/Edgerunner/103041926560673
