Born in Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland & Labrador, in 1966 I grew up in a family with 2 younger sisters.
My first memories of gaming come from visiting my Grandparents on my Dad's side where Granddad Earles would always have the Checkers board out (and would always win). The standard childhood games took root: Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly, Careers, Life, etc. In my early teens some friends introduced me to Risk, but I never got into anything more "serious" than that.
From there I fell off the "board" game train for the alluring world of Arcade and, then, PC games. I entered a career as a Computer Programmer which in 1994 resulted in me moving from my small town of 25,000 to Toronto (2,500,000+ - more if you add in the 'burbs). The lifestyle was certainly different, but had its advantages - wider cultural and entertainment diversity.
I met Vicki (vearles) in 1996 while playing NTN Trivia in a bar, and we formed an immediate friendship. We started dating in 1997 and got married (finally) in 2004.
I rediscovered gaming early in 2006 and started spending way too much time lurking here on BGG. So many games; so many years to catch up on. 330 games/expansions later here I am.
Most of my gaming is done with my wife, so we appreciate a well done 2 player game and multi-player games that can retain some semblance of their gameplay in a 2 player variant.Game StatsLast 10 Games PlayedTop 10 GamesHot 10 GamesAvatar

I'm Canadian and hockey was an integral part of my youth. Growing up in the 1970's (I was born in 1966) I have many memories of watching Hockey Night in Canada. Unlike today, where Don Cherry is the intermission entertainment, I grew up with ShowDown and Peter Puck. When I saw an image containing Peter I knew I had found my final Avatar.
