I've always loved games and played them with my family growing up but we stuck to the standard games that most people know about from seeing them at Target or Walmart. After high school I got into Magic: The Gathering for a few years. Then in grad school my classmates and I would play Settlers of Catan. I slowly got exposed to new and better games such as Killer Bunnies and Ticket to Ride, but then Christian Griggs broke open the gaming world for me in 2008. Now I am becoming almost as obsessed with them as with my movie collection.
I am trying to build a collection that includes some kids games and some good two-player games. My wife and I like to play together paticularly during the cold winter months. Hopefully we'll have some kids soon to play with as well. As a point of interest: We have 11 copies of Monopoly from different movies and other themes. It just kind of started by accident. I also have a few variations of Stratego and LIFE.
I started recording my plays Memorial Day Weekend of 2009. If I record playing an expansion of a game, the base game is assumed to have been played so I do not record it separately.
