My earliest recollection into this hobby started (2nd grade from what i remember) with my father teaching me to play Chess, Parcheesi, Checkers and Chinese checkers.
Sometime in elementary (5th or 6th grade) I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons with two other friends. My fondest memories involved the three of us going to the hobby store that use to be in the neighboring city. When we finally got our drivers license we could spend countless hours browsing the game shelves while my other buddy was looking to see what module he was going to purchase. I did purchase a few of my own games that included: GW Talisman, DungeonQuest, TSR's The New Dungeon, and AH Magic Realm. I never learned to play Magic Realm, because at the time I found the game difficult to learn but looked like a cool game - I wish i could find it.
I was re-introduced to gaming from a friend at work (2007). When I was invited to play board games at his house, I could only think of games like Monopoly and Sorry! I was in for a surprise - we played games that I never heard of, e.g Warrior Knights, Marvel SuperHeroes and others.
A friend of my sister had introduced me to Puerto Rico and Settlers of Cataan, great games and really enjoyed playing them. The same friend from work showed me many more games available and now I am hooked (he introduced me to this site as well). I don't think a day passes that I don't log on to BGG (cant seem to function well when it's down either). I really enjoy gaming and hope to find more fun and interesting games - as long as I stay with-in the budget (say the wife).
